Parent requests for September: Staff will meet at the beginning of May to build tentative classes for the fall. Parents can assist us greatly in our planning by informing the main office early of intentions to move out of the area or transfer to another school as soon as possible. When we meet to set up classes for next year, the following factors are considered:
-instructional groupings
-maturity/work habits
-learning style/teaching style
-program continuity
-peer relationships/group dynamics
-parental input
The importance of any one of these factors varies from student to student. Individual pupil’s progress and placement are carefully considered. If there is important information in the class building process that you think teachers do not already have, please send it to us in writing via email for review and consideration, and care of the Principal, Shelley Gauthier by end of day on Thursday, May 1st, 2025. Please send your email to gauthiers@hdsb.ca
Any parent letters received past the aforementioned deadline date may not be considered. All information provided by parents to the Principal will be shared with staff involved in organizing any given class. We kindly ask that you do not request specific teachers by name, as class placements and teaching assignments may change up until September. Using all of the above factors under consideration, the school staff strives to build classes that are balanced and that best meet the needs of all students.
