  • Monster Mash Dance-A-Thon - Wednesday October 31 Your child will be bringing home a flyer and donation sheet for our upcoming Dance-A-Thon. On Wednesday, October 31st, the School Council will be hosting a Monster Mash Dance-A-Thon Fundraiser for all students. All proceeds raised during this Fundraiser will be allocated to improving our school’s Library Learning Commons. Students are invited to wear their Halloween costume or black and orange to get into the spirit.  The Dance Schedule is as follows:Kindergarten:  9:15-10:15    Grade 1 to 3:  10:15-10:55  Grade 4 to 6:  11:50-12:50  Grade 7 & 8:  2:20-3:20We are trying our best to make this Fundraiser as Cashless as possible; so there ...

  • Wasteless Wednesday Falgarwood is introducing Wasteless Wednesdays.  Our goal is to encourage litterless lunches and reduce the overall amount of waste produced as a school.  Children are encouraged to place their organic waste in the green bins and their recyclables in the blue bins, along with minimizing the amount of waste they bring in their lunch, by using re-usable containers.  Thank you for your continued support in making our school a greener place!

  • We Scare Hunger! It is that time of year again! Me to We is starting their first campaign for the year. We Scare Hunger!  Dates: Tuesday October 9th - Friday October 19th  Goal: 1000 items  Students are asked to bring in donations to their homeroom class. Below you will see a list of items from Oakville Food Bank that are currently in need. Every little bit and every item helps!  ITEMS IN NEED:  -Tins of corned beef and ham  -Powdered laundry detergent  -Tins of pasta (such as Spaghettios and Ravioli)   -Tins of fruit (especially peaches and pears)  Me to We thanks you for your support in making our first campaign a success!

  • Open House - Thurs. Oct. 4th The staff at Falgarwood would like to invite you to our Open House on Thursday, October 4 between 4:15 pm and 6:30 pm. You are invited to visit your child(ren)'s classroom(s) to meet the educators and see the learning environment during this time. Parents who pick their children up at the end of the day are asked to remain outside before visiting classrooms at 4:15 pm. We hope all of our families are able to pop in to say "hi" on the 4th.

  • Volunteers Needed A "Volunteer Registration Form" was included in the start-up package distributed last week.  We are particularly in need of volunteers to assist with Pizza Days. Please see the job descriptions below and let us know if you can assist with either role.  Our "Pizza Days" cannot run without volunteers.Pizza Lunch Volunteer Coordinator- The coordinator would recruit, firm up volunteers and organize reminders so that the school's Pizza Lunches have at least 4 volunteers (ideally 6) each Tuesday from 12:45 to 2:00 p.m. The coordinator does not have to be at the lunches.   • Prescribed Medication Forms 1 & 2 (Parent & Dr. Signatures required) A reminder to parents that any prescribed medication (e.g., EpiPen, puffer, antibiotics) that a student is required to take during the school day, must be accompanied by "form 1" and "form 2" which require both a parent and prescribing Regulated Health Care Provider (e.g., physician) signatures. Families are encouraged to visit their Health Care Provider prior to the start of school to ensure all forms are completed for the first day of school.

  • Supporting Students with Prevalent Medical Conditions - Please book your plan of care meeting Earlier this year, the Ministry of Education released Policy Program Memorandum 161: Supporting Students with Prevalent Medical Conditions. School Boards across Ontario are expected to implement PPM 161 by September 2018. As a result, the HDSB has updated several Administrative Procedures to better support students who have Anaphylaxis, Asthma, Diabetes, Epilepsy and Seizure Disorders. With the revised HDSB procedures, students who have any of the listed prevalent medical conditions, must have a Plan of Care in place.
