Principal's Message - Week of Sept. 18

Hello Falgarwood families,

Please read this message in its entirety as it contains some important information. A reminder to please be sure to read all correspondence from the Halton District School Board. Moving forward, the principal’s message will be moving to every other Friday!

We are hoping to start our breakfast program the week of September 25th. More information to follow!

Our Open House is scheduled for Thursday September 28th from 6 – 7 pm. Please come out to meet your child’s teacher. We are looking forward to connecting with you! Our settlement worker, The Welcome Centre and Halton Library will also be there to provide resources for our families.

At our Open House, you will be meeting our staff team. We have a new, vibrant, enriched and excited teaching team who come with extensive experience in teaching and learning, empowering modern learners, mental health, climate, robotics, coding and coaching. They are collaborative and are committed to bringing the best to your children each day. Please connect with them if you have any questions. Teacher emails are located on our Falgarwood website as well as through Google Classroom.

Each class has a Google Classroom. Be sure to connect with your child’s Google classroom as teachers will be posting classroom information there. Remember to check our school website as it is updated weekly and contains information on student activities. Both communication modules will have important information for our community.

Teachers will be starting leadership clubs for students to participate in. We are looking forward to a vibrant and engaged student and school community. More information to come!

As we transition into fall, there may be extremely hot days. During these times, we will be keeping our students inside or we will shorten their time outside. As the weather changes, be sure to dress for the weather as students will be going outside to enjoy the weather and time with their friends.

If your child has a health concern, medication or plan of care, be sure to drop off medication and fill out the appropriate forms. Our office staff are here to help you. We have health plans here at the school and we update them regularly and communicate them to our staff.

You should have received an email with an electronic media and walking form to complete. A paper form also went home outlining participation in physical education. Be sure to complete these forms as soon as possible. They are mandatory and need to be completed in the next week.

Thanks to our new staff and leadership team, as our culture here is kind, caring, positive and uplifting. Together we are putting students and their families first. We look forward to working with you and continuing this positive, collaborative and enriched learning climate.
